Sponsored Children
Clinic Nepal sponsors around 100 children each year from underprivileged families, including orphans, to ensure they receive a basic education. These children are fully supported through the clinic’s education program. Some live at Aasha Ko Kiran Hostel in Daldale, while others reside in Meghauli, Bharatpur, Kathmandu, and even Germany. Those in Germany have received full scholarships for higher education in fields such as medicine, engineering, and master's programs. Children awarded full scholarships stay at the hostel, while those receiving only school fee support continue living with their families. Many of these students dream of becoming doctors, pilots, nurses, teachers, or police officers.
Aasha Ko Kiran Children’s Hostel in Daldale was established in 2002 with just seven children in a small room. Today, it provides a safe and nurturing home for 35 children aged 5 to 16. Some are orphans or from broken families, while others come from extremely poor households near the clinic in Meghauli. Their families cannot afford an adequate standard of living or education.
The hostel is fully funded by donors and operates free of charge on land and in a house owned by Hari’s sister, Bhagwati, and her husband, Bishnu. It is located on the same site as Aasha Ko Kiran Kindergarten. This location was chosen because renting a property in Meghauli was financially unsustainable. Through these efforts, Clinic Nepal continues to provide children with education, shelter, and a brighter future.
Over the last fifteen years, 10 graduates have been placed with sponsors to attend university in Europe and America.
2 year Science and Math High School at Shree Janaki School
Hari Bhandary’s dream was always to build a better school. In 2016, using his prize money as a finalist for “The ONE International Humanitarian Award”, Hari was able to build onto Shree Janaki School by adding another level to the top of school, roughly 300 ft. In doing that, Hari was able to establish and house a 2-year science and math high school program, dedicated to serving underprivileged students.
In Nepal, most science and math high schools were only in private schools, not public schools, like Shree Janaki. Hari felt it important to create a high school that gave anyone, no matter their caste, class, or gender, equal opportunities to attend a science and math high school. This opportunity gives talented students from marginalized backgrounds a chance to further their education, previously not given to them. Having high marks in Science and Math allows for the opportunity to go on to any university to study Medicine, Engineering, or really anywhere they would like to go. Roughly more than 30 students go through this program each year.
Kindergartens
The establishment of our kindergartens began in 2001. After seeing differences in early childhood education between Nepal and developed countries, Hari sought to bring a more holistic approach to his community in Chitwan. Inspired by kindergartens abroad, Hari started the first kindergarten in Sukranagar, Chitwan, aiming to improve early childhood development. At the same time The Clinic felt it was necessary to teach proper hygiene and sanitation to the youth, in hopes of inspiring their parents to the benefits of good health.
The Clinic currently manages and funds two kindergartens for children aged 2 to 6 years. Teachers are trained in both Montessori and local teaching methods. Clinic Nepal at one time managed 3 kindergartens. The first kindergarten, Prabhat Bal Shikchhya Sadan was handed over to the community in 2016.
Our kindergartens include:
Ashako Kiran Kindergarten (Pre-school), Daldale, Nawalparasi – Founded in 2002 for the holistic development of children, initially welcoming over 70 students.
Wolfgang Linke Kindergarten, Meghauli – Established in 2007, welcoming 75+ children each year.
These kindergartens continue to provide quality early education and care for young children in Nepal.
Vocational and Skill Development Training
Clinic Nepal actively sponsors young people for vocational and skill development training. This initiative helps improve their economic opportunities and long-term financial stability. The program covers training in various skills such as IT, tailoring, plumbing, electrical work, driving, and beauty services. By providing these opportunities, Clinic Nepal empowers local youth with the skills needed for a better future.
