Friendship SCOUT TROOP

Friendship Scouts play a crucial role in the local community, acting as a social and educational group that promotes environmental awareness, good hygiene, and community service. Founded in 2005, the scout troop gathers every Saturday morning for two hours to teach valuable life skills, cultivate responsibility, and encourage a positive outlook.

Scouts engage in a wide range of activities, including physical games, English lessons, painting, music, and arts and crafts. These activities not only help develop practical skills but also enhance communication and foster creativity. The scouts are also actively involved in community improvement initiatives, such as village clean-ups, raising environmental awareness, and advocating for sustainable practices. They have built trash rings to collect trash, and distributed cotton bags to reduce plastic bag use. Additionally, scouts take part in various camps organized by other troops and host their own jungle camp every year, and every four years, they host an international camp, welcoming both international and Nepali scouts. We often work with our friends, Nameste Nepal Scouts from the UK https://namastenepal.org.uk/ .

Cultural exchange is an essential aspect of the troop’s activities, with volunteers from around the world joining scout programs to share knowledge and traditions. This interaction promotes mutual learning and broadens perspectives. Through their commitment to social service, environmental protection, and skill development, these scouts make a meaningful impact on their own community while preparing for a responsible and capable future. The goal is to make friendship not only in their own community but also around the world.
